PMMI: The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies was pleased to support its education partner, the College of Lake County Advanced Technology Center’s (ATC) high school Manufacturing, Engineering, Technology, and Trades (METT) Day. The METT pathway is a high school Career and Technical Education (CTE) initiative that provides students with industry-relevant skills and knowledge in manufacturing, engineering, and related fields. ATC hosted 75 teams comprising 226 students from various high schools around Lake County, Illinois.
The event was a team competition to see who could best complete the METT pathway challenge before them. One unique aspect of the event was that the high school teams had access to local METT-related businesses for project feedback and guidance. Four PMMI members supported the event with donations: The real thanks go to our four PMMI members who stepped up to help support this event with donations: Poly-clip System USA LLC, Mundelein, Illinois; Cama North America, Buffalo Grove, Illinois; Domino North America, Gurnee, Illinois and Anritsu, Elk Grove, Illinois With a match from the PMMI Future Workforce Skills Funds, CLC will receive an additional $5,000 to support this great event and help develop future manufacturing leaders.
