DCC Automation, a trusted expert in engineered conveyor and automation solutions with more than 70 years of industry experience, announced the acquisition of Custom Metal Designs (CMD), a family-owned automation and custom metal fabrication company based in Oakland, Florida.
The acquisition represents a significant step forward in DCC Automation’s growth strategy and expands the company’s ability to deliver fully integrated, front-of-line to end-of-line automation solutions. With the addition of Custom Metal Designs, DCC Automation strengthens its capabilities across container handling, conveying, case handling, palletizing, de-palletizing, bagging, de-bagging, and long-term system support, serving customers across the dairy, food and beverage, packaging, blow molding, and industrial markets.
Custom Metal Designs is widely recognized for its expertise in plastic container handling systems, downstream blow molding solutions, custom metal fabrication, and integrated automation systems. CMD supports manufacturers with engineered solutions for conveying, accumulation, material handling, and custom-designed equipment tailored to specific production needs. Bringing CMD into the DCC Automation organization builds on DCC’s long-standing reputation for engineering excellence, high-quality systems, and dependable customer support, while expanding the depth and flexibility of solutions available to customers.
“This acquisition allows us to better support our long-standing dairy customers while continuing to grow into new markets,” said Peter Debald, President of DCC Automation. “Custom Metal Designs expands our capabilities in container handling and custom fabrication, giving our customers a trusted partner for more complete automation solutions, from front of line through end of line without changing the relationships and service they rely on today.”
Custom Metal Designs will continue to operate with its experienced team and established capabilities, now supported by DCC Automation’s expanded sales network, infrastructure, and long-standing customer relationships. Together, the combined organization is positioned to deliver comprehensive automation solutions from system design and engineering through fabrication, integration, installation, and ongoing service support.
“Founded in 1972, Custom Metal Designs began by developing innovative conveyor solutions to meet emerging automation needs in the packaging industry,” said Ray Aguerrevere, Vice President and General Manager of Custom Metal Designs. “Over the years, we’ve evolved into a trusted integrator of advanced automated packaging systems. This next chapter reinforces our strengths, expands our capabilities, and ensures continuity for our customers, while creating new opportunities for innovation and growth. We remain firmly committed to the values that have guided us for more than 50 years, innovation, reliability, and customer success.”
The acquisition brings together two organizations with shared values, a strong commitment to craftsmanship, and a customer-first mindset. DCC Automation remains firmly committed to its core dairy market while continuing to expand into new industries where custom fabrication and integrated automation solutions are increasingly critical. Customers can expect continuity in relationships, service, and support as the integration progresses.
